What is a CVV Test?
A CVV test is a verification process that checks the Card Verification Value (CVV), a three- or four-digit code found on the back of a credit or debit card, during a checkout. It's designed to ensure that the person using the card has physical possession of it.
Why does a Checkout Decline occur?
- Inaccurate CVV: The CVV entered may not match the number printed on the card, leading to a decline.
- Expiry Date Mismatch: The card expiry date might be invalid, resulting in a declined transaction.
- Limited Funding: There may be insufficient funds or credit limit available.
- Security Measures: Some transactions may be declined as part of the bank's security measures to prevent fraud.
How to Conduct a CVV Test During Checkout
During checkout, simply input the CVV when prompted. The system will verify it with the bank's network. If the CVV is correct, the transaction proceeds; if not, the checkout will be declined.
